Bhumi- The Good Earth!

It was one of those lazy Saturday afternoons when I was wondering what to do. I remembered a status update of my friends on Facebook calling for volunteers to teach a group of kids. I messaged her asking for details without a trace of thought of where I was landing into. She sent me the details and being an active volunteer also took me to the center where she teaches. The moment I saw the kids I fell in love with them. Then I became an official member of the organisation called BHUMI- http://www.bhumichennai.org/.
   BHUMI is basically a youth volunteered non-governmental organisation run by professionals to help under-privileged kids. They have lot of programs which facilitates learning for kids in orphanages and community centers. We can teach various subjects like English, Math, Science and Computers. They also have a mentor ship program where a volunteer guides a single child and acts as the mentor through their life. In the orientation held for new volunteers we got to know many good Samaritans who were willing to spend their time usefully with dedication. Kudos to all Bhumians!!!!
