Here and There..

I am a avid reader of almost all English and Tamil magazines. There is a Gnani who is a columnist in one of the leading Tamil weekly magazine whose writings i really look forward to. He writes about things that shock him, and those which he appreciates, every week. This is an excerpt of his article in my words.

Shock 1:
The Tamilnadu government had allotted Rs50 lacs for the one day FICCI conference held recently. FICCI is Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It was headed by Kamal Hassan who is intent on bringing a change to the society. Gnani asks " Does the cinema industry have no money?? Will the government allot the same if barbers or photocopy shop owners hold the conference??" If Kamal Hassan who is the President has some social responsibility he better collect a lac from each producer and give the amount back.

Shock 2:

In the Mumbai attacks recently Chief of anti-terrorist squad Hemanth Karkare was killed by the terrorrists. Though he had worn a bullet proof jacket 8 bullets had penetrated his body. It was due to the faulty make of the jackets which were manufactured in 2004. Though it was found that the jackets are not safe , the manufacturers had assured that they'll improve its quality so that the govt doesn't cancel the order. Unfortunately it has not been done. Recently Karkare's wife had filed a petition to check his jacket but lo and behold the authorities have said that the jacket is MISSING!!!
Guys think.. how could it go missing??? If it is found then lot of BIG names of our country will be affected so corruption has destroyed even the most important and sensitive departments of our country.

Shock 3:
In Chettupattu Railway station a mentally-retarded person had been abandoned. A lady saw that and called the 108 emergency ambulance and they had refused saying they come only for emergencies. Then she had called Banyan and they too had told they aren't taking any new people into their shelter and couldn't refer to any others. All had asked her to call the police. What will the police do?? Will they come?? I guess you know the answers...
But when the government can give 50lacs to the poor cinema industry can't it help these kind of people in the same way??

Good post..we definitely need an anniyan to solve these problems :P
It happens every day...some are big, some are small..but most of us do not protest due to fear of consequence or learnt to accept(agree ) that things cant change and live with it.....
